- Two references to Red Dead Redemption for PC have been found in the files of Rockstar Games. This was reported by a data miner under the nickname Tez2. To confirm his words he published a screenshot with the description of variables RDR_Product Promotion_Intro_Body and RDR_Product Promotion_Intro_LongTitle, according to which RDR will be available on PC.
- Judging by the description, the PC will feature the main version of Red Dead Redemption and the major addition Undead Nightmare, which tells the story of protagonist John Marston's quest to find a cure for a zombie virus epidemic. The plot of this DLC is not considered canon, and is set in an alternate universe.
- Red Dead Redemption originally released on May 18, 2010 on PS3 and Xbox 360. Rockstar Games may be timing the announcement to coincide with the game's 14th anniversary.
- In August 2023, Rockstar released Red Dead Redemption on PS4 and Nintendo Switch. The game received some technical improvements and support for Russian subtitles.
