News PSP emulator has been released on the App Store

PSP emulator has been released on the App Store
The PPSSPP emulator for iPhone and iPad was officially released on May 15. It is available in the App Store in the standard free version and in the premium Gold version, which costs five dollars. Previously, the utility could only be launched using a jailbreak.

Enthusiast Henrik Rydgård said that the program currently works on Apple mobile devices with some limitations. It does not support:
  • Vulkan in the MoltenVK library,
  • The Magic Keyboard,
  • Synchronization with the RetroAchievements website.
In the future, the author of the emulator will release several updates to fix the shortcomings he listed. He also noted that in most cases, games running in PPSSPP will show good results on iOS and iPadOS - even despite the inability to implement JIT recompilation, which improves performance.

Delta emulator, which supports games for the NES, N64, DS and Game Boy, among others, was previously released on the iPhone. According to media reports, it was downloaded more than three million times in the first few days.

Rumor Tom Henderson states that recent Call of Duty leaks are "complete fiction."

Earlier today, several new Call of Duty "leaks" on upcoming installments went viral across social media, which Insider Gaming can report as complete fiction. The rumors gained some credibility because they came from two Call of Duty data miners (Visceral and VondyisPog), who have previously reported accurate information about the franchise. However, this time, things were different, with both accounts reporting on two supposed Call of Duty projects named "Anvil" and "Devilwood" — details that couldn’t have been obtained from datamining. This is partly because the titles are so far out that they wouldn’t be within the files, but mostly because they are not real. According to the "leaks," Anvil was an Infinity Ward title based on Ghosts, and Devilwood was a Sledgehammer title based on Advanced Warfare. While it wouldn’t be surprising to see Infinity Ward tackle CoD 2026 and Sledgehammer 2027 (which is the current plan and, to be honest, pretty predictable), the details of the games are not accurate. While things can certainly change, getting codenames wrong in the first place makes me question how the information was obtained and to what extent it was verified.

What are your top three non-AAA game recommendations from the last two decades?

I'm feeling a bit tired of games like RDR2 and Cyberpunk. Just to give you an idea, my favorite AAA developers are Fromsoft and Team Ninja. I'm not really into games that are so obscure or niche that they're only good for the sake of being different or nostalgic. Something in between a widely regarded top-tier indie game and a hidden gem sounds about right.

Here are some recent games I've found and loved that fit this criteria:

- Slay The Spire
- Outer Wilds
- OneShot
- Disco Elysium
- SOMA (not sure if it counts as AAA)

I've never felt this defenseless playing Alien Isolation.

Playing Alien Isolation is incredibly stressful! Even when I walk as slowly as possible and frequently check my tracker to see if the alien is around, it still shows up unexpectedly. I have my flamethrower out, but it’s useless in small spaces because the alien is so quick. Despite the challenges, I still enjoy the experience because it's rare for players to feel this defenseless and have to be so careful about what to do next.

News Final Fantasy XVI, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and Foamstars didn't live up to Square Enix's expectations

t6y453t42rFWERT.jpg
  • According to Bloomberg, Square Enix president Takashi Kiryu said at a meeting with investors that Final Fantasy XVI, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Foamstars fell short of the company's expectations.
  • Final Fantasy XVI's launch sales were within expectations, but they slowed down and the game ended up falling short of its full fiscal year forecast. The actual print run has not been named.
  • Square Enix did not share the sales of the recent Final Fantasy VII Rebirth either, but they were immediately below the company's projections. The same applies to the multiplayer shooter Foamstars.
  • The company emphasized that it does not consider the sales of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Foamstars to be a complete failure. It is also confident that Final Fantasy XVI can still achieve the outlined goals over an 18-month period.
  • Square Enix's share price fell nearly 16% after the financial report. Investors are concerned that there are no major releases on the publisher's schedule for the next couple of years that could rectify the situation.
  • Along with the financial report, Square Enix presented a medium-term business plan, according to which it will release games on multiple platforms, including Xbox and Nintendo devices.
