Nintendo announced the acquisition of Shiver Entertainment Studios in a press release. It was previously owned by Embracer Holding.
The Japanese company noted that even after the deal closes, Shiver Entertainment will continue to operate in the same format, "providing services in porting to multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch."
Shiver Entertainment was responsible for porting the recent Hogwarts Legacy and Mortal Kombat 1 to Nintendo Switch. The second port was unsuccessful: it had to be tweaked after criticism from players and journalists.
