Hogwarts Legacy Glitch Shows Just How Awesome Quidditch DLC Would Be
Although Hogwarts Legacy presented a fantastic opportunity for Quidditch mini-games or quests, it didn't include them in the base game, leaving many hopeful for their inclusion in DLC. However, no such DLC has been announced thus far. Developers have mentioned that new features will be added to the game in the summer of 2024, including making the PlayStation-exclusive quest available on other consoles and PC editions.

Whether these new features will include actual DLC remains uncertain. Regardless, it's unknown if Quidditch will be among the touted features. While Hogwarts Legacy offers immersive quests and experiences set in the world of Harry Potter, some players feel that broom flying could have been more fantastical with additional abilities.

One Player's Glitch Shows Off How Much Cooler Flying Could Be

One Player's Glitch Shows Off How Much Cooler Flying Could Be
One of the most noticeable missing features that would enhance broom flying was recently highlighted when a now-deleted Reddit user encountered a peculiar glitch in the game. This bug allowed their character to continue flying on their broom while casting spells to attack nearby poachers. Although it was clearly a glitch causing issues like constant warnings about inability to land and other pop-ups, witnessing a young Hogwarts student flying on a broom and casting spells feels like a feature that should be part of the game.

In the wizarding world, it's entirely natural to use spells while flying on a broom. The absence of this feature in Hogwarts Legacy makes sense to some extent due to the complexity it would entail in programming and to prevent players from being overwhelmed with combined mechanics of flying and spellcasting. However, observing this glitch that enabled simultaneous flying and spellcasting not only looks cool but also feels fitting for the game in a way that's disheartening to realize isn't officially permitted.

It Is The Perfect Time For A Hogwarts Legacy Quidditch DLC

Adding to the disappointment is the obvious absence of Quidditch in Hogwarts Legacy. Since the game's launch in February 2023, Hogwarts students have been disheartened to learn that Headmaster Black canceled Quidditch for the school year depicted in the game. The glitch allowing for spellcasting while flying on a broom only emphasizes how incredible it could be to play Quidditch within Hogwarts Legacy.

Broom flying in the game is already an exceptional experience, offering breathtaking views of the landscape from high in the sky, especially when played with high graphic settings. Players enjoy weaving through trees and immersing themselves in the experience. The quests to find and pop balloons are currently the closest players can get in Hogwarts Legacy to experiencing any kind of mini-game on a broom. This is truly regrettable, as the thrill of flying could be heightened with even a brief, modified version of Quidditch or other broom-based games within Hogwarts Legacy.

Exclusive PlayStation Content Is Coming To All Versions Of The Game

Exclusive PlayStation Content Is Coming To All Versions Of The Game
In Summer 2024, Hogwarts Legacy developers will be introducing a PlayStation-exclusive quest to all versions of the game, along with promising more updates and features during that time. While details are scarce at the moment, more information is expected in the coming months. Many fans are hopeful that this could include Quidditch-related content, given its high demand. However, with the development of the upcoming Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions game, any Quidditch content added to Hogwarts Legacy may not be extensive.

Regardless of whether Quidditch officially makes its way into the game, there's still hope for additional flying features on both mounts and brooms. The glitch mentioned above further emphasizes to players that while the flying mechanics are already impressive, there's room for more to make it feel even more immersive and magical. If Hogwarts Legacy developers were to introduce the ability to cast spells while on a broom, or even a small-scale Quidditch experience during their summer updates, it would undoubtedly elevate the magical immersion of the game to a whole new level.
