I can't think of many people who enjoy these missions when they're forced into games where they don't belong. Especially when the mechanics are poorly executed and feel forced. It's just not enjoyable. It's repetitive, tedious, frustrating, and overall unpleasant.

For instance, in the Insomniac Spider-Man games, playing as Mary Jane feels like a chore rather than a fun addition. And in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the chocobo wrangling missions feel out of place.

Moving slowly from cover to cover isn't fun. Neither is distracting enemies to sneak past them, or waiting for them to move. It's especially frustrating when being spotted means starting over. It's simply not entertaining. Even if you succeed, it's still boring and feels like a waste of time. When playing an action game, I want to engage in combat or face challenges, not hide behind crates to avoid detection by a chocobo.
