Remedy bought all rights to Control
  • Remedy has acquired all publishing, distribution, marketing, and other rights to the Control franchise from 505 Games for 17 million euros, as announced on its website. This acquisition includes the rights to Control, its upcoming sequel, the multiplayer cooperative spin-off Condor, and all future projects within the franchise.
  • Until December 31, 2024, 505 Games will continue to serve as the publisher of the original Control, after which the rights will transfer to Remedy. Remedy is currently deliberating whether to independently publish games from the Control series or seek out another partner, exploring various options. Their previous game, Alan Wake 2, was published by Epic Games.
  • The deal amounted to 17 million euros due to 505 Games' previous significant investment in the development of the sequel Control and Condor. Control proved to be a success for Remedy Studios, selling over four million copies and generating revenue exceeding 100 million dollars. It garnered an average score of 82 out of 100 on Metacritic from journalists and 7.5 out of 10 from users.
  • Remedy announced the development of a Control sequel in November 2022, with plans for release on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. The original budget for the project was 50 million euros, although a full-fledged announcement of the game has yet to be made.
