A petition calling for the cancellation of Assassin's Creed Shadows
A petition demanding to cancel the development of Assassin's Creed Shadows due to "lack of cultural respect" for Japan has appeared on Change.org. The author of the petition named Shimizu Toru compiled the document in Japanese. At the time of writing the note, the petition has collected more than 30 thousand signatures. This was brought to the attention of the publications Insider Gaming and Wccftech.

According to the text of the petition, Ubisoft should cancel Assassin's Creed Shadows because of the "serious insult to Japanese culture" in connection with the incorrect depiction of samurai. The author of the petition demands that the game's release be immediately canceled and "investigated."

Whether the petition was actually created by a Japanese resident is unknown. At the time of writing, two English-speaking users of the platform published their videos in support of the initiative. In addition, under the petition you can see a lot of comments in English, which was pointed out by analyst Daniel Ahmad.
