Electronic Arts has kicked off a significant PC games sale as part of the ongoing Steam Scream: The Revenge event. This sale is poised to be one of the last major promotions on the platform before Steam's forthcoming payment policy takes effect, altering the way certain users make payments for games on the platform.

Valve introduced the initial Steam Scream sale in the lead-up to the previous year's Halloween, aiming to showcase games that embrace the eerie essence of the spookiest month. This promotion brought substantial discounts to a wide range of horror-themed games and other creepy titles.

The second installment of the event kicked off today and will be running until November 2, with Electronic Arts being one of the major participants in this newly launched sale. EA's lineup of special deals is headlined by a substantial 40% discount on the critically acclaimed Dead Space remake, which is now priced at $35.99. The second and third entries in the trilogy are both available at an impressive 80% discount, coming in at $3.99 each during the promotional period. In addition to these spooky discounts, EA's Steam Scream: The Revenge offerings include Alice: Madness Returns and Lost in Random, which are currently available at discounts of 85% and 90%, respectively.

In the newly launched sale, all Halloween-related The Sims 4 expansions are featured, including the Paranormal, Vampires, and Werewolves content packs. These DLC discounts vary, with some reaching up to a 30% reduction, depending on the specific expansion. EA has also generously applied an 80% price reduction to all of its Plants vs. Zombies games on Steam, a fitting choice given their undead-themed gameplay aligns well with Halloween.

While Steam Scream: The Revenge primarily focuses on celebrating games with Halloween-appropriate themes, EA has slipped in a number of unrelated titles into this latest sale. For instance, a significant portion of the Need for Speed franchise has received discounts of up to 90% as part of the promotion, along with both Star Wars Battlefront games, which are now available at a 75% discount, costing $14.98 when purchased together.

Among the newly discounted games, the title that doesn't relate to Halloween is Immortals of Aveum, now temporarily available at a 40% discount. It's worth noting that Immortals of Aveum received mixed reviews upon its release in late August. RPG enthusiasts seeking a less action-oriented experience can explore the Dragon Age franchise, with discounts ranging from 70% to 75%. Additional highlights from EA's recently launched sale encompass an 85% discount on the Mirror's Edge series and 75% price reductions for titles like Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Sea of Solitude, Spore, and the Burnout Paradise remaster.
