Combat Overview

 Combat Overview

Aerith's gameplay in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth closely mirrors her role in the Remake entry, but with notable enhancements to her magical abilities. While controlling Aerith, utilize the 'Square' button for basic attacks and 'Triangle' for a swift teleportation maneuver to evade imminent threats.

The basic attacks consist of non-elemental magic spells capable of striking multiple opponents simultaneously from a distance. Holding down 'Square' initiates the Tempest attack, unleashing a large crystal that damages all nearby enemies and enhances their stagger potential.

A fully charged Tempest introduces a Fleeting Familiar, accompanying Aerith and bolstering the potency of her spells until it fades away. Activating the familiar at the beginning of a battle proves advantageous for easier staggering of foes when using equipped magic Materia.

Aerith's 'Triangle' ability serves as a dodge, allowing her to warp out of harm's reach. The Ward Shift teleportation moves Aerith a short distance in the chosen direction, and if a Ward is active, she teleports to its center.

Additionally, Aerith possesses two Limit Breaks:
  • Healing Wind: A level one Limit Break where Aerith casts potent healing magic to restore the party's HP.
  • Planet's Protection: A level two Limit Break where Aerith casts a spell temporarily nullifying physical damage. This powerful Limit Break can only be employed once per battle.

Ward Shift

 Ward Shift

Mastering the Ward Shift ability is crucial for ensuring Aerith's survival in the heat of battle. Ward Shift relies on Aerith's proficiency in utilizing Ward abilities, such as Radiant Ward and Arcane Ward. These Wards can be strategically cast at any party member's location, providing the flexibility to distribute them across the battlefield.

Maintaining multiple active Wards on the field proves to be a strategic advantage, enhancing Aerith's maneuverability. When several Wards are concurrently active, Aerith will teleport to the Ward you are directing her towards or the one closest to her position.

It's important to note that Ward Shift doesn't activate instantly, leaving Aerith briefly vulnerable before the teleportation takes effect. Once executed, this ability enters a cooldown phase for a few seconds. Careful planning and timing are key to effectively deploying Ward Shift and maximizing Aerith's battlefield resilience.
