Fortnite: Chapter 5 Season 2 Mod Bench Locations
A couple of years ago, Fortnite introduced gold bars as a resource in Battle Royale mode. Players can get gold by defeating opponents, opening cash registers, breaking down stacks of gold bars, and unlocking safes and chests. They can carry up to 5,000 bars before hitting the limit and not being able to gather more. To prevent this, they have to spend their gold.

Chapter 5 Season 1 brought weapon modifications to Fortnite, and they're still around today. While some weapons come with mods when players discover them, they can freely add, remove, and swap mods as long as they have enough gold. This guide will explain everything players need to know about weapon mods in Fortnite, including where to find Mod Benches on the map and which mods they can apply to their weapons.

Mod Bench Locations

 Mod Bench Locations
Before, players could access Mod Benches by breaking into Society Vaults. These vaults aren't locked anymore because the Society members aren't on the map. However, the Mod Benches in the vaults were removed when the Myths & Mortals season began in early March.

Mods are still useful for improving weapons in-game, so players need to know where to find them. In Chapter 5 Season 2, Mod Benches can be found inside Weapon Bunkers and in the basement of the floating Loot Island.

Even though there are 10 possible locations for Mod Benches in Fortnite, not all of them will be available. Only seven will be accessible during a match, as the others will be locked with chains and impossible to enter. The Mod Bench on the floating island is always accessible, but it only appears later in the game.

Weapon Bunkers can appear in these locations in Fortnite:
  • The Underworld
  • Pleasant Piazza
  • Piney Pumps
  • Dumpenhausen
  • Lavish Lair
  • Rescue Station
  • Charon's Crossing
  • Pantheon Path
  • The Windmill
  • Loot Island
All Mod Benches become accessible once the third Storm Circle forms, except for the one on Loot Island, which only becomes available after the fourth Storm Circle starts closing.

Available Mod Bench Modifications

 Available Mod Bench Modifications
The Weapon Mod Bench offers four categories of mods: optic mods, magazine mods, underbarrel mods, and barrel mods. Players can browse through these categories and choose the one that suits them best. It costs 75 gold to attach a mod.

Except for Common Weapons, Fortnite weapons come with one or more mods already attached. Fortunately, it doesn't cost anything to remove mods from a weapon. This means that if players find a weapon they like but with a mod they don't, they can remove it for free and then attach another mod for just 75 gold bars.

Here are all the weapon mods available at the Mod Bench in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 2:
