Fortnite is a popular game that brings together famous characters from various parts of pop culture. You'll find Marvel superheroes, Ryu from Street Fighter, and even characters from The Witcher. Recently, Fortnite added Snake and Raiden from Metal Gear Solid, along with some cool stuff like Raiden's sword. This addition might signal the start of some new trends in Fortnite.
Metal Gear Solid, which came out in 1998, followed the Metal Gear games. The first MGS game became really famous and helped make its creator, Hideo Kojima, well-known. Metal Gear's impact on gaming is huge, and Kojima is still a big name in gaming with games like Death Stranding and the upcoming horror game OD. Even though Metal Gear is often linked with Kojima, he left Konami after the fifth game. The series was quiet for a while until recently, when they released some remastered versions and announced Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the third game.
Fortnite Should Add More Metal Gear Characters
Snake is basically the symbol of Metal Gear, so it's no surprise he's one of the first MGS characters to join Fortnite. You can play as the familiar Solid Snake or choose his Old Snake look from Metal Gear Solid 4. Alongside Snake, Fortnite also brought in Raiden, the main character from MGS 2, which is considered one of the top Metal Gear games. Raiden comes in different versions, one with his mask on and one without. Unlike Snake, who you get by completing challenges, Raiden can be bought separately or as part of a bundle with his cool accessories from the in-game store. These two are probably just the beginning of MGS characters showing up in Fortnite.
Metal Gear Has a Long Legacy
Metal Gear has been around for a long time, so there are lots of famous characters they could add to Fortnite. Apart from Snake and Raiden, there's The Boss, Big Boss, Revolver Ocelot, and Meryl, who would all fit right in. The Boss would be a good pick, especially since MGS 3 is getting remade. Big Boss and Revolver Ocelot are just as important to Metal Gear as Snake and Raiden, with Big Boss even being the main character in some games. Since Metal Gear is so loved and getting new releases, it'd be great if Fortnite included more of its well-known characters.Fortnite Should Team Up With Konami Again
Apart from Metal Gear Solid, Konami has lots of beloved game series that would be perfect for Fortnite. The Castlevania anime has kept fans interested, and there's been news about Silent Hill and a remake of its second game. With Silent Hill coming back and Castlevania still popular, having characters from these series in Fortnite would be a big hit. Adding these well-known franchises to a game like Fortnite could also introduce them to younger gamers who might not know about them.
Hopefully, Snake and Raiden appearing in Fortnite is just the beginning of a partnership between Konami and Epic Games. Metal Gear Solid has so many famous characters who would be great in the game, and there are other Konami series that would fit well too. While fans wait for news about more Konami games in Fortnite, they can work on unlocking Solid Snake by completing challenges in the game.
