Nicolas Cage has reached a deal with Amazon and will star in a noir Spider-Man series. The show will be released on the company's streaming service Prime Video.
Cage has already voiced the character in the animated film "Spider-Man: Across Universes".
The series will be set in New York City in the 1930s and tells the story of an aging private detective, who acts as the only superhero in the city.
The series is being produced by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, who are responsible for the recent Spider-Man cartoons, and Amy Pascal.
Oren Uziel, who wrote the script for the most recent "Mortal Kombat" adaptation, and Steve Lightfoot, formerly responsible for Netflix's "The Punisher," have been named showrunners.
