PS VR2 PC Adapter
  • Sony has announced an adapter to connect the PS VR2 virtual reality headset to a PC. The accessory, priced at $60 or €60 depending on region, will go on sale August 7, 2024.
  • Once the PS VR2 is connected to a PC, owners of the headset will be able to run thousands of SteamVR games on the helmet, including Half-Life: Alyx, Fallout 4 VR and War Thunder, Sony said. It will require the use of a DisplayPort 1.4 cable and a computer that meets minimum system requirements.
  • To run the games, you'll need to connect the headset to a PC, and download the PlayStation VR2 and SteamVR apps from Steam. This will allow you to customize the helmet to work with your PC, set the gaming zone, and purchase and launch games.
  • Some key PS VR2 features that work on the PS5 will not be available when playing on PC: HDR, eye movement tracking, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback from the headset. All other technologies are supported, including foveated rendering at 4K resolution (2000x2040 pixels per eye).
  • Sony has launched sales of the PS VR2 in February 2023, priced at $550.

Minimum system requirements

  • OS: Windows 10 64-bit / Windows 11 64-bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-7600 or AMD Ryzen 3 3100 (Zen 2 or newer)
