- Slipgate studio Ironworks and publisher 3D Realms have announced the release date for the PC version of Phantom Fury, the sequel to Ion Fury, in a brief gameplay trailer.
- The game is set to launch on April 23 and is already listed on Steam, where players can add the retro shooter to their wishlist. Pre-orders are currently unavailable.
- The protagonist of Phantom Fury will be Shelly "Bombshell" Harrison, who emerges from a coma following the events of the first installment. She embarks on a perilous journey across the United States to locate a mysterious artifact known as the "Demon Core." The developers describe the game as a blend of first-person shooter and road movie.
- The creators of the sequel have promised players access to over 20 weapons, the ability to upgrade a bionic arm and suit, and numerous interactive objects within the game's locations.
- Whether Phantom Fury will be available on consoles remains uncertain.
