Elon Musk art
Starting on November 13, Sony is discontinuing Twitter/X support for the PS4 and PS5, following in the footsteps of Microsoft, which ended support for Xbox Series X|S earlier in the year. This means that PlayStation players won't be able to easily upload clips from their consoles to the social media platform or share their Trophy achievements. Elon Musk has taken notice of this development and mentioned on Twitter/X that he will "look into this."

Elon Musk, who acquired Twitter for $44 billion last year, is speculated to be a key figure in several companies deciding to discontinue Twitter/X integration. It's been reported that he decided to charge companies a minimum of $42,000 for access to Twitter's API, a cost that could potentially increase. This pricing structure might have played a role in PlayStation losing support for Twitter/X.
ps integration with X (formerly known as Twitter) will no longer function
Sony is not the first video game company to make this move. Earlier this year, Blizzard removed in-game Twitter/X functionality for World of Warcraft, and in April, Microsoft confirmed that Xbox clips could no longer be shared directly to Twitter/X from their consoles. The recommended solution was to post highlights from the Xbox app on mobile devices.

Musk has not provided specific details on how this situation may be resolved. He is known for his enthusiasm for video games, having shared his Elden Ring character build in the past and expressing his fondness for games like Halo.
