Social network X, formerly known as Twitter, has updated the terms and conditions for distributing adult content on the site. The site has allowed the publication of “voluntarily created and distributed” content showing adult sexual activity or nudity. Such content can be posted as long as it is labeled appropriately.

We believe that users should be able to create, distribute, and consume material related to sexual themes as long as it is consensually produced and distributed. Sexual expression, whether visual or written, can be a legitimate form of artistic expression. We believe in the autonomy of adults to engage with and create content that reflects their own beliefs, desires, and experiences, including those related to sexuality. We balance this freedom by restricting exposure to Adult Content for children or adult users who choose not to see it. We also prohibit content promoting exploitation, nonconsent, objectification, sexualization or harm to minors, and obscene behaviors.

According to X's rules, posting adult content is not allowed on banners and profile pictures. Users who regularly post sexual content must specify certain media settings in the parameters. This will hide such content for people who don't want to see explicit material.

Social Network X noted that it considers any pornographic or sexually stimulating material to be adult content. This includes AI-generated images or videos or animated content.
