To embark on this quest, venture into Vernworth shortly after your initial arrival in the capital. The trigger occurs when you're approached by someone bearing unsettling news: a rumor swirling about Gregor's supposed dispatch to the perilous Illdoers' Resting Place, potentially as part of a nefarious plot to eliminate him and leave his spouse unguarded.

This crucial information typically surfaces in Vernworth's noble quarter.

Once informed, make your way to the Watchhead's Home within this district and engage Margit, Gregor's spouse. She'll implore you to undertake a perilous journey to Illdoers' Resting Place to rescue her beloved.

Although a sense of urgency looms, this quest isn't accompanied by the hourglass symbol in your quest log. Nevertheless, it's wise to proceed promptly. While Gregor may remain unharmed until your arrival at the quest location, it's prudent to err on the side of caution and expedite your journey.

Before venturing forth, ensure you're adequately prepared for the imminent confrontation. Anticipate a challenging battle and consider enlisting the aid of a Mage or Sorcerer proficient in light-elemental spells, invaluable assets for the upcoming skirmish. If opting for a Mage, verify they're equipped with an elemental boon buff spell to bolster your party's effectiveness.

Once fully engaged in the quest, you'll find a guiding marker hovering over Illdoers' Resting Place, situated within the Misty Marshes to the northwest of Vernworth. To navigate to this treacherous locale, follow these directions diligently:
  • Depart Vernworth through its western exit and traverse the extensive bridge.
  • Proceed westward along the path, sticking to the main road until you pass Trevo Mine, which lies to the south.
  • At the juncture where the road diverges into northwest and southwest routes, opt for the northwest path.
  • Upon reaching the road's terminus, cross the expansive western bridge.
  • Continue along the northwest path leading into the Misty Marshes.
Once ensconced within the Misty Marshes, simply adhere to the road leading towards the quest marker conspicuously displayed on your minimap.

Be forewarned, the Misty Marshes teem with formidable adversaries. Notably, be wary of Undeads, known for their vexing grab attacks. Should you or your allies fall prey to these assaults, swiftly summon your Pawns for assistance and endeavor to extricate them from the grasp of danger.

Gregor is situated on an island nestled amid the swamp's depths. To rendezvous with him, circumnavigate the swamp's perimeter along its southern fringe.

Conveniently located southeast of Gregor's whereabouts is a campsite. Take advantage of this respite to fortify your party, as a formidable confrontation awaits.

How To Beat The Dullahan

As you approach Gregor's position, you'll encounter him embroiled in a fierce altercation with a formidable adversary - the Dullahan, often referred to as the headless horseman. This undead menace boasts exceptional resilience, wielding devastating sword strikes and possessing the uncanny ability to swiftly traverse great distances in a phantom guise.

Your primary objective in this encounter is to deplete one of the boss's health bars, prompting it to retreat from the fray.

Fortuitously, you're joined by Gregor and his retinue for this skirmish. Despite the chaos, prioritize maintaining your health, reviving fallen Pawns, and diligently chipping away at the enemy's vitality.

Should your efforts falter and you meet an untimely demise, the repercussions are manageable. Reloading from your last save point is a viable recourse, particularly since a campsite lies in close proximity to the battlefield. Utilize this convenient resting spot to recuperate any lost vitality, provided you possess a camping kit.

After the Dullahan retreats from the fray, approach Gregor to receive his heartfelt gratitude for your intervention. He'll express profound thanks for your timely rescue and subsequently extend an invitation to reconvene in Vernworth.

Upon returning to the capital, seek out Gregor and Margit at their residence within the noble quarter. Engage them in conversation to conclude the quest, thereby garnering substantial rewards: 2,800 experience points, 5,000 gold coins, a Steeled Virtue, and a Lustrous Targe.

It's worth noting that the magnitude of these rewards hinges on Ser Gregor's survival during the encounter with the Dullahan. In the unfortunate event of his demise, the rewards may be significantly diminished.
