News "Kung Fu Panda 4" started at number one at the U.S. box office, while "Dune 2" revenue approached 300 million.

Kung Fu Panda 4
  • The fourth installment of "Kung Fu Panda" made a strong debut at the domestic box office, knocking "Dune 2" from the top spot. The film garnered $58 million in the U.S., with a total worldwide box office of $80 million.
  • In the United States, this animated feature marked the best opening for the franchise since its inception in 2008, when the first film amassed $60 million. Interestingly, the fourth installment was notably more cost-effective, with production expenses totaling $85 million, compared to the previous entries' $150 million budget, excluding marketing costs.
  • Industry analysts consider the launch of "Kung Fu Panda 4" a success, although the film will likely need to surpass the $200 million mark to turn a profit.
  • "Dune 2" experienced a 44% decline in its second-weekend earnings in the U.S., which is still commendable for a blockbuster. It accumulated $46 million, bringing its total U.S. box office to $157 million. Surprisingly, the sequel outpaced its predecessor in the domestic market within ten days, despite the original film's simultaneous release in 2021 on HBO Max.
  • As of now, global box office figures for "Dune 2" are unavailable. However, considering its promising start in China, it is anticipated to surpass the $300 million threshold.

Gaming PC

Hey,

I'm a total noob at building PCs, but as a mechanic a handy noob. Can anyone take a look what could be improved for the same amount of money? I mean, I don't mind an additional 2-300 to spend, but rather not. I don't know if I'm missing parts like cables maybe? Some feedback and advice is well appreciated. :)

Already ordered the Lian Li 011 case.

Activision trade union
  • Around 600 testers from various Activision Blizzard studios have come together to form the Activision Quality Assurance United, affiliated with CWA, the largest labor union in the United States.
  • With such a sizable membership, the Activision testers' union has become the largest among video game developers in North America, surpassing the ZeniMax employee union, which had around 300 members.
  • This marks the first union established through an agreement between Microsoft and CWA. Microsoft has voluntarily recognized the union, fulfilling its commitment under the agreement.
  • The quality control departments at Activision are notorious for being challenging workplaces, with numerous media reports over the years highlighting issues such as constant overwork and minimal pay for employees.
  • Before the Microsoft agreement, Activision Blizzard actively opposed unionization efforts. For instance, in mid-2022, the company refused to raise the salaries of testers from the Raven studio due to their involvement in union activities.

Industry "Sweet Baby Inc Detected" Curator Support Thread

1709743308307.png
Hi,

First I want to thank the site administration that they do have a transparent policy on free speech and do not block news and topics condemning the activities of Sweet Baby Inc Detected. I'm glad to be able to speak out on this issue and support the Steam curator "Sweet Baby Inc Detected". I have subscribed to his page and group, and I encourage anyone who wants to make their voice heard to do so as well. Let's stand up and show that we are not a herd of sheep to be forced to behave. Because this is disgusting. There's even a video of a BlackRock representative talking about how we need to enforce this behavior or game developers won't get any money.

I really hope Steam doesn't block the SBI page - detected, but there are no guarantees. So I propose to make this thread for those who are looking for similar groups and communities so that in case of blocking we can re-unite.

Of course the Gamer.Express community is the first thing I can offer to those who are looking for an alternative to Sweet Baby Inc Detected or those who are tired of woke culture.

Share your links or groups that will help us find each other.

Cheers!

News The Closed Yuzu Emulator Will Continue To Be Developed By Other Developers

nintendo switch yuzu
  • Enthusiasts have initiated the development of Nintendo Switch emulators for PC known as Nuzu and Suyu. These emulators are built upon the source code of Yuzu, a previous emulator that ceased operation following a dispute with Nintendo.
  • Repositories for both Nuzu and Suyu emulators have surfaced on GitHub, with developers establishing presence on social networks, Reddit, and Discord servers. They are actively seeking individuals interested in contributing to the advancement of Nintendo Switch emulators for PC.
  • On the GitHub page of Suyu emulator, its creators have stated their stance against piracy. They have made it clear that users must provide their own game files to run on the emulator, emphasizing that they do not intend to profit from it, primarily to avoid legal action from Nintendo.
  • Similarly, the developers of Nuzu have underscored their commitment to creating a Yuzu-based emulator for lawful purposes. However, they have not ruled out implementing restrictions on standard Yuzu functionality.
  • In light of the Nuzu and Suyu projects, the Yuzu developers have shuttered their website, with the domain slated to be transferred to Nintendo. A farewell message from the creators has been posted on the website, condemning piracy.

Nintendo filed a lawsuit against the creators of Yuzu at the end of February 2024. Shortly thereafter, both parties reached a pre-trial settlement agreement. As part of the agreement, the Yuzu creators agreed to pay Nintendo 2.4 million dollars in damages and cease distribution and development of any Nintendo console emulators, including future iterations.
